SPA Eclipse,
Date:November 1, 2010
By AJ
from Summerville, SC
"I have used the SPA Eclipse for at least 10 years and have found it to be very reliable and durable. My spa sits outdoors in the weather all year round and has a circulation pump which runs continuously. The chip in the device is good under normal circumstances (this of course leaves out lightning strikes and hurricanes with flooding) for approximately one year give of take. Other than spiders, fire ants and occasional snakes which enjoy the warmth, particularly in the Fall, the hot tub with the Eclipse runs flawlessly. In addition, customer support has always been good. I have not experienced any excessive corroding due in part to a 5 foot copper sacrificial ground rod buried to within 4 inches of its length at a point closest to the main electrical panel but outside the spa enclosure. The four inch protrusion allow a 2 guage copper strap to be attached to the rod outside and then passed under the shell to the main electrical panel within the spa enclosure. This addition, not only reduces corrosion, but also provides a solid ground for the electrical control box and 3 pumps as well as all electrical ancillary equipment (read Eclipse here). After I installed it, the pumps quieted down (I am referring to the huming a motor makes) noticeably. Also the follow on replacement chips for the Eclipse last a month or two longer then they did in the past."

Not very Reliable Unit,
Date:September 10, 2010
By Joe Spa
from Edmonds, Washington
"I installed the Del Spa Eclipse in 2007. I was replacing the generator as required in 2010. The electical connections were corroded and failed. The Del Spa Eclipse unit needed to be replaced. This unit is not built to last. I would not purchase this unit."
